The Ministry of Finance, in partnership with the World Bank Group’s MIGA, hosted two workshops in Dubai and Abu Dhabi at the Chambers of Commerce as part of the Ministry’s efforts to boost the UAE’s business climate, the events brought together government officials, local business leaders, and investors. MIGA presented its range of financial products and services, including insurance solutions and guarantees to support credit for entrepreneurs and lenders in emerging economies. Discussions also covered investment concerns and optimizing capital acquisition from financial institutions.
The workshops featured a session on “Applications of innovative products: Commercial financing products and the latest renewable energy solutions.” His Excellency Younis Haji Al Khoori, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, praised MIGA for promoting business opportunities in emerging economies and supporting the UAE’s private sector expansion abroad. He thanked the Abu Dhabi and Dubai Chambers of Commerce for hosting the workshops, acknowledging their pivotal role in empowering businesses and fostering economic growth.
EthiopisTafara, Vice President of MIGA, expressed interest in cooperating with the UAE’s private sector to facilitate entry into emerging markets and support sustainable development initiatives.
Ahmed Khalifa Al Qubaisi, CEO of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, highlighted the workshop’s significance in advancing the business community and enhancing the investment landscape of Abu Dhabi. He stressed the importance of investing in developing countries to strengthen economic relations and local/international economic growth, aligning with Abu Dhabi’s vision.
Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, emphasized their commitment to supporting the local business community and fostering partnerships between the public and private sectors to enhance Dubai’s business environment and contribute to prosperity in emerging markets worldwide.
